Steve is a member of Callan's Manager Search Committee.
Steven J. Center, CFA, is a senior vice president and investment consultant on Callan’s West Coast consulting team. Based in Seattle, Steve works with a variety of clients, including corporate defined benefit and defined contribution plans, public retirement plans, and endowments and foundations. His responsibilities include client service, investment manager reviews, performance evaluation, research and continuing education, business development, and coordinating special client proposals and requests. Steve is a member of Callan’s Manager Search Committee and a shareholder of the firm.
Steve joined Callan in 2010 as a vice president and fixed income investment consultant in Callan’s Global Manager Research group. He was responsible for research and analysis of fixed income investment managers and assisted plan sponsor clients with manager searches.
Prior to joining Callan, Steve was a senior manager research associate with the firm now known as Verus Advisory. Previously, Steve spent five years with Alan Biller & Associates where he was responsible for manager research and performance measurement for institutional investors. Steve began his investment career in 1997 in the Cooperative Universe Services group at Wilshire Associates.
Steve earned an MBA with honors from the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington and a BA in economics from the University of California, Irvine. Steve is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of CFA Institute and CFA Society Seattle.
