Sweta Vaidya, FSA, CFA, EA is a senior vice president and a consultant in the Capital Markets Research group. Sweta joined Callan in October 2018 and is responsible for assisting clients with their strategic investment planning, conducting asset allocation studies, developing optimal investment manager structures, evaluating defined contribution plan investment lineups, and providing custom research on a variety of investment topics. Sweta is a member of Callan's Inclusion Committee.
She consults to a wide range of asset pools, including defined benefit plans – corporate and public, endowments, foundations, insurance, hospitals, health-care systems, and nuclear decommissioning trusts.
Sweta joined Callan from Willis Towers Watson where she was a director in the Investment Strategy Group. Her primary responsibilities included performing asset/liability studies for some of the largest corporate pension plans, non-ERISA pension trusts and nuclear decommissioning trusts in the US. She has modeled these funds for the purpose of determining asset allocation, setting dynamic de-risking policies over time, settlement analysis, and making funding policy decisions.
Prior to joining Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting in August 2009, Sweta was an actuarial analyst in Watson Wyatt’s Retirement Practice where her responsibilities included stochastic modeling, actuarial valuations, plan design studies, and other special projects for U.S. pension clients.
Sweta received a BS (cum laude) in finance and actuarial science from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), an enrolled actuary (EA), and a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation (CFA).
