NYCERS Notice of Search for U.S. Mid Cap Equity Active Investment Managers

The Comptroller of the City of New York, acting on behalf of the New York City Retirement Systems, and specifically the Teachers’ Retirement System of the City of New York (TRS), New York City Employees’ Retirement System (NYCERS), New York City Police Pension Fund, Subchapter Two, New York City Fire Pension Fund, Subchapter Two, and New York City Board of Education Retirement System (BERS) is conducting this investment manager search to identify and select investment management firms, or a pool of investment management firms, to create and manage one or more public equity U.S. equity active mid-capitalization portfolios.

To be considered, investment management firms must comply with the following: 

Minimum Requirements: All firms shall carefully review this search and the minimum requirements described in Section B of the attached. Interested firms that meet the minimum requirements must enter their information in the following databases to be considered by each of the investment consultants. The investment consultants will review the databases and provide the Bureau of Asset Management with a written report identifying the investment managers that meet the minimum requirements.

  • For Callan, investment firms must submit their information directly to the investment consultant at questionnaire.callan.com.
  • For Wilshire, investment firms must submit their information directly to the investment consultant (Wilshire Compass) at compassportal.wilshire.com.
  • For Rocaton, NEPC, and Segal Marco Advisors, investment firms must enter their information into eVestment Alliance’s database at evestment.com/submit-my-data.

Firm and Product Information: All firms must ensure they completely identify their firm and product information in the aforementioned databases. Firms must ensure the information is current and accurate (e.g., organization, product, returns, portfolio characteristics, and AUM).

Database: There is no fee for entering information into the aforementioned databases. Investment managers are advised that information in the database may become part of any pool contract that results from this search.

Deadline: Current and accurate data must be in the aforementioned databases no later than June 21, 2019 at which time the respective investment consultant shall commence its review of the database.
