Defined Contribution Consulting
Position available: Consultant
Location: Chicago, Illinois or San Francisco, California
We are currently looking for a dynamic, results-oriented individual to work with our defined contribution clients on record keeping searches, fee analysis, fiduciary requirements, and investments. This individual will represent Callan with existing clients in promoting efforts to further extend successful relationships, and with prospects in generating new DC business.
Job responsibilities:
- Representing Callan’s DC capabilities internally and with clients
- Supporting the development of new DC business through presentations and meetings
- Analyzing the fees and services paid to DC plans' existing administrator
- Conducting searches for replacement of record keepers as needed
- Developing and maintaining relationships with the major administration firms in the DC arena
- Researching special DC topics for Callan clients and consultants
- Keeping up-to-date on the general DC and administration environment
Candidates should have the following skills and characteristics:
- Familiarity and experience with defined contribution plan structure, administration, and investments
- Client facing experience, and comfort with articulating information about defined contribution services
- Investment knowledge and background
- Strong combination of presentation skills and research/analytical skills
- Strong familiarity with DC record keeping landscape
- Familiarity and comfort with conducting fee analyses and record keeping searches
- Generally high computer and technical skills
- Strong communication skills
- Must work independently and as part of a close team
- Proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime
- Willing to travel
- Strong knowledge with Microsoft Windows and programs (primarily MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the DC or related field
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Graduate Degree preferred
- CFA preferred
